PSI Molded Plastics South Carolina is Hiring a Mold Setter Near Marion, SC

Summary/Objective:

The Mold Setter routinely extracts and installs mold tools in molding machines along with the installation and removal of external auxiliary equipment. This position also mentors and provides training to other injection molding personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Make necessary equipment changeovers by following procedure for installing and setting a mold.

2. Facilitate the connection and operation of auxiliary equipment including, but not limited to chillers, thermolator, gas assist, DME controllers, heat bands, conveyor systems, etc.

3. Successfully complete training and utilize as needed the following: forklift and overhead crane operation and Lock Out-Tag Out procedure.

4. Must follow all safety and work instructions along with completion of all required documentation.

5. Observe specific parts of equipment in process to determine or analyze the cause of machine malfunctions. Repair and/or make any necessary adjustments to equipment to obtain desired operating results.

6. Provide input and obtain information to and from data terminal, etc. Perform preventive TPM and periodic checks on assigned equipment as instructed. Move equipment as directed.

7. Provide input of injection molding process and equipment for the reduction of defects, overall process improvement, and/or the reduction of downtime.

8. Participate in continuing education opportunities offered by the company.

9. Must complete and maintain ISO competencies for department.

10. Responsible for the housekeeping of the injection molding machines and surrounding areas as defined in the department procedures after mold tools are installed or removed.

11. Maintains an open line of communication to assure all problems and changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.

12. As requested, assist other team members in cross-training and conduct on-the-job training of other associates.

13. Actively participates in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 6S & housekeeping. Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental and ergonomics efforts.

14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and experience required for the role.

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Must be punctual and dependable.

3. Able to work with little supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
